Join the Office of Dual Careers and Faculty Relocation for a three-part workshop based on Bill Burnett and Dave Evans’ renowned Designing Your Life curriculum. Drawing on the insights of design and engineering thinking, this workshop will teach participants to hone into the questions of self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-knowledge by sharing what it means to be curious, mindful, reflective, and how to solve simple to complex problems by prototyping. Led by the College’s Atiya Singh, a certified DYL facilitator, the three sessions will:

10/19: Introduce the foundational concepts of design thinking and the process of meaning-making that examines one’s work-view and life-view.

10/26: Focus on the tool of Flow and Energy Engagement to observe and note the energy draining and energy building activities in a given week.

11/2: Explain tools of ideation and prototype to examine a few pathways that one’s life could take.

At the end of the series, participants will be equipped to apply design thinking tools to job searches, career transitions, and leading a meaningful and fulfilled life.
